My love for Elvis Presley’s music began somewhere in the mid to late sixties. I must have been about 5 years old, and although I only remember bits and pieces of this part of my life, I remember hearing a warm, soothing voice singing what sounded like a lullaby on a long drive from New York to Miami, FL. My parents had decided to relocate to the “Magic City” to escape the cold weather. Funny, I don’t recall how many days it took for us to reach our destination but I never forgot that voice when it came over the radio, I only remember someone every now and then referring to him as “Elvis”.
My older brother began playing 45 rpm records in the early 70’s on a record player we got for Christmas, and I was immediately hooked on music!
For me, at that time, it was either Elvis Presley or the Beatles, and nothing else. There was something unique and melodic about both acts’ music that immediately connected with my heart and voice, and soon I was singing and emulating pretty much every Elvis and Beatles’ song ever released at the time.
My name is Orlando Gutierrez. I’m all grown up now even though I’m still a kid at heart, I’m married to a pretty lady named Sandra who’s given me the two most precious little kids I could ever ask for, Kymberly and Kyle. I also have a wonderful warm-hearted 23 year old daughter named Katie from a previous marriage who’s hoping to become a veterinarian.
I carried my love for music with me throughout my career as a Minor League Baseball Umpire from ‘82-’94, while I was signed to Warner/Chappell as a staff songwriter, and into today as a police officer in Miami, FL. My wife and I still play Elvis music in front of our kids and my little 3 year old boy Kyle starts shaking his hips in a frenzied uncoordinated fashion when he hears “Jailhouse Rock”.
Bless all of you and please thank and support musicians, for without their devotion and starvation, we would not be able to enjoy the music we love.

My name is Orlando Gutierrez and like many of you, I'm still a true, diehard Elvis fan. In 2007 I stumbled across Profitlance, and I began my journey as a webmaster and blogger. I hope to bring you quality information and products for your entertainment as well as for those of you who continue to pay tribute to an amazing soul who left an unbelievably lasting impression during the short time we knew him. ...
